Tips and Tricks for your Android Dropbox

We all know Dropbox is an excellent online storage service and we can use it effectively to improve our productivity. There are so many ways we can use Dropbox in our day-to-day life. Here are few tips and tricks to use Drobox in your Android phone effectively,

  • If you write an article or want to jot down your ideas quickly, use Dropbox’s text editor. It will be synced with your other devices and you can continue working on it from your other mobiles or computers.
  • Sync your camera pictures/videos – Open your Android Dropbox application and click on the menu, choose New -> Picture or Video. You can take a picture or video and save it. It will be uploaded to the Dropbox server. Later, you can download it to your computer. No need of connecting your mobile to your computer via cables 🙂
  • To view a file in off-line mode, long press on that file to download it to your Dropbox folder. You can download music, videos like this.
  • Share files to your friend – Install “shareQR” application in your Android device. Go to your Dropbox folder and long press on the file you want to share. A pop-up menu will open, choose “Share a link” and share it using shareQR app. Send the link to your friends, they can use QR reader app like BarcodeScanner and download the file.
  • Install apk files without connecting to your computer – Download the apk file on your computer and copy it to the Dropbox folder. Now it will be synced with the server. Open the Dropbox folder in your mobile and click on it to install the application.
  • Share bookmarks – Create .url shortcut from your browser and place it in the Dropbox folder. It will be synced with all the devices and computers, click that file to open the page.
  • Reading e-books – Copy .epub files to your Dropbox folder. It will be synced with all your computers and mobiles. Open the Dropbox folder in your Android mobile and click on that file. It will open the file in the default ebook reader like Aldiko.
