How to connect to a VPN network from iPhone,iPad and Android

June 1, 2011 Leave a comment

You can connect to your office VPN network from your iPhone, iPad or from an Android phone. Even you can connect to your desktop computer using your iPad.

You need the below apps/details before proceeding,
1. Junos Pulse app – This is a free application from Juniper Networks. It is available for both iOS and Android.
2. RDP lite – This is also a free application. It helps to connect to your computer using remote desktop protocol.
3. Your VPN url – You can get this information from your network administrator.

Now follow the below steps to connect to your VPN network,

1. Install Junos Pulse app from the app store or from the android market.
2. On the first run, it will ask you to accept the end user license. Read the license carefully and accept it if you want.
3. Now the application will ask you to enable it. Click the enable button.
4. After enabling it, Junos Pulse will show the configuration screen. Tap ‘Configuration -> Add new configuration’ buttons.
5. In this screen, enter a name for this network and the VPN url. Click ‘Save’
6. Now go to the main screen and click ‘Connect’. It will connect to your VPN and display the login screen.
7. Enter your login credentials and log into your network. Once connected, you can close the application, it won’t disconnect the network connection.

Now you can access your intranet sites and other applications.

Use RDP lite to connect to your remote desktop and access it.
